v2.0 / Testers for 2.0

I shall be needing testers in a couple of weeks for the upcoming 2.0 release.


You will be required to test the general stability of the mod.
Go through the current changelog testing everything present.
Report any bugs you find as clearly as possible - post screenshots etc.
Any balance issues from any new features/changes.

Not allow others to play your test version or release else where.
Not to discuss information or give away spoilers from the test build.

UPDATE

Hello all, the test build will go live within the next couple of days, I'm hoping tomorrow but it depends on what time I have spare. I shall open up a testers sub forum and everyone here will receive a testers tag. This means you can access this part of the forum for this test build and any future test build (If you already have a testers tag then you should already know how this works). Anyone that does not contribute to testing will have their testers tag removed. Anyone that breaks the rules outlined above will have their testers tag removed and possibly banned from the forums.
Donators automagically receive access to the testers subforum even if they choose not to contribute. Whether you donate 1$ or 100$ you still get the same access.

Detailed reports on anything from the changelog is required.
Testing of scenes from the changed scenes on the changelog is welcomed, also if you notice a problem and can fix it yourself using the editor this is even better! The time it takes for you to post screenshots and explain the issues, I fix them, re-upload, you re-test. You could probably change them yourself in the editor and retest in a much quicker time. Then I would just require you to send me the updated scene file. If however you are not comfortable in doing this then I wont hold it against you.

I plan to test for just one week if possible, then release the following week. So the more you can test in this short amount of time, then the better.[/spoiler]

Changes


Battle continuation added to sieges.
Expanded defensive area for Pyke siege.
Changed the way killing lords works. If you are at war with the faction of the lord you killed, the relationship loss will be less. The relationship differs depending on the reputation of the lord killed. ie, you will get a big hit for killing an upstanding lord, but if you kill a debauched lord the hit will be much less.




Fixes

Joining sea battles when enlisted as a lord will now correctly spawn you in a sea battle.
Fixed issue with Golden Company Pikeman weapon skill.
Fixed issue with Westerland Pikemen weapon skill.
Fixed regular sailors not giving ship speed increase but sellsails giving twice as much as they should. 
Your quest log will now update correctly for the lands of always winter quest.
Small issue fixed with A Lannister always pays his debts quest.
made a few small changes/fixes to ten towers scene.
Attempted fix for lords companions being cloned when imprisoned. (requires a new game).

Changes

Added new Tyrell armours and helmets.

Adjusted particles for fire arrows to be a bit more realistic.
Various adjustments to triggers. They should be more consistent now!

Beta 10 / Beta 10 Dev build bugs

I will open this here and start by posting the PM sent to me from thenextking



-Pike Siege Bug is fixed!   (btw, I loved the helmets you gave to the kraken guards)
-most of the two-handed weapons work well (just take a look in the longsword, you still use only one hand to strike with it)
-removing the war between The Reach and Dragonstone really help Stannis!
-The religion system works perfectly!

The targeryan Invasion (in this case, there are good and bad news):
- The now take Griffin's Roost, which is good
-you can still find cloned lords
-They have a purpose, since they took Tumbleton from The Reach
-Unfortunetely, they can'y handle 6 enemies, so they rapidly lost Tumbleton to The Riverlands (I think they shouldn't be at war against The Vale, The Riverlands and The Iron Islands) They are now only at war with the stormlands and whomever owns Kings Landing. Dorne will also goto war against whomever owns kings landing. I have also made checks to make sure kings landing is not owned by dorne and the stormlands still exist to stop any errors. Hopefully this should be better. I may as suggested, add points where I force them to go to war with others, but I would prefer to keep it sandbox.
-after the message of Aegon's Landing at the Stormlands, there was another message telling me that House Targeryan and Dorne have made peace with each other (a peace agreement) I have removed this now the above is sorted
- King aegon still uses an incorrect banner.

Other bugs:
-I chose westerlands as starting people choice, but barristan raised an army of wildlings after I gave Thenn to him. Apparently, your companions raise an army related to the original culture of the fief you give to them. - should hopefully be correct now.
-When your enemies try to route, you still receive a message tellig taht both you and your enemy are trying to route, since the battle is almost lost (and also some red text)  - fixed
- Styr magnar had defected weeks before I defeated Free Folk. Once you've posted in the Changelog topic that some lords  will only defect after their relations with their lieges become -100, i thought strange that this kind of behavior came from an upstanding lord like Styr Magnar. - Currently, as in native code, the relations are set randomly. I need to write a script that will change each lord seperatly, but with hundreds of lords, that's quite a long job. So I shall probably leave as is for now. A list would be nice though of all the lords that need high relations with their liege. ;)

I need some brave soul to test the current build and articulate the war system. I have now enabled Essos factions to quarrel between each other but require feedback over a long period of several games to make sure there's no weirdness. I also require information on other factions so I can try and make a few small balance changes.

You can report other bugs in the current build but your main focus is how the current diplomacy works between each factions. ie, Essos should not be involved in the wars of Westeros.

Send me a PM if your interested and have the time to test and I will send you the current build. I possibly only need a 2-3 candidates.

So ive been playing around with the CWE banners and I came up with this.




I may try and do the same for all the major houses. Will just take a bit of time to finish them all.

Beta 9 / Beta 9.8

I have changed the current Beta 10 to Beta 9.8. Once released this will be Beta 9.9. The reason being, I would like to fix up everything before moving onto the extra features. Lately I don't have much time to work on the mod so may end up cutting some features from the final build and adding them later as patches or DLC.

My main concern atm is changing anything that is left to correctly represent the ASOIAF universe and fixing any bugs or inconsistencies. I shall be uploading a build to this post later for people to try. But if you do download then please make sure you post as much feedback and as many bugs as possible to this thread. This is very important so they next release can be as bug free as possible.

Beta 10 will therefore have everything changed to correctly fit the setting. Then when time allows I will start working on dlc for the mod, which will include the big features I had planned.

'Unify' UI textures and backgrounds.
Added higher quality Westerland banner textures.

Adjusted Veteran Unsullied armour so they don't fall into the heavy armour category.
Buffed all upper tier soldiers. This fixes problems with some soldiers having less skills than lower ranked soldiers due to armour penalties.

A few people report issues with crashing. Here I will try and list the main reasons and things to try. You can also visit the Wiki FAQ page which gives a few more things to try.

Make sure you are running the latest version of warband. This mod will only run correctly with version 1.172+.

An obvious one but make sure you are running the latest version of the mod. The latest version will always be linked at the very top of the boards.

Turn on 'Load textures on demand'

Make sure you are not running the game in edit mode.




If you experience stuttering but high fps then your cpu is probably not good enough to handle the formations ai. Try turning this off in the mod options.

If you have low fps then try turning your settings down in the game options.

You will be expected to hunt bugs to enable the Beta 9 to be as polished as possible before release. If you only PM me as an excuse to play the mod early I will exclude you from any future Beta's that are released on these forums.

A few people have asked if I plan on making AWoIaF for Bannerlord. My first reaction was no way. Not after all the work involved in creating the current version. Though if I was able to gain enough interest and help then its something I would definitely like to do.
I have already started using donation money to buy new items, scene props and armours that are very high in quality and can be used in Bannerlord too. The current version for Warband is only a couple of releases away from being what I feel as complete. (Version 10 most probably).
So with all this in mind I would be grateful if anyone here would like to offer their support and services for the creation of AWoIaF for Bannerlord. We already know it will use C++ so anyone that has knowledge of this language will be very useful. Any sceners and 3D/2D artists would also be very helpful.
Likewise, if anything can be created now, it can be used in the current version and the new. That also goes for any donations made now which will be used with Bannerlord in mind. The new mod will be created in the same vein as the current one, with an emphasis on Sandbox and community interaction.

I feel I have learnt a lot making the current mod so making a new mod should feel much smoother and easier. Using the Brytenwalda module system for a start was a big mistake and has cost me huge amounts of hours changing pretty much everything. We also already have most of the groundwork and any research complete for locations, names, lords, relations etc etc.

One thing I can guarantee though, is I wont be able to spend any where near as much time on Bannerlord as I have for this one, so this is why I will need your help.

Beta 8 / Dev build 04.11.15

I shall try and release a new dev build tonight. This will be the full Beta 8 download. If no one reports any major issues over the next couple of days I shall release on moddb over the week end.

Keep in mind some bugs may still be present, which I will fix for Beta 9, though I want to get this released before Fallout4, as I probably wont be doing much modding after that point for a few weeks ;).  Plus I have a load of work to do on my house before xmas.

Known bugs

The Wall great hall scene needs fixing.
Harrenhal needs finishing.
Some face textures are missing - if anyone wants to check them all and let me know which that would be great!!



This will be the last dev build with a possible release next week after this week ends AMA. So its important you can find any bug/anomaly/issues possible.


Thanks again to everyone that's helped to bug test. This version would be no where near as polished as it is without you!!

Exactly a month later we have the next dev build. Check the changelog for the latest changes. Though its been mostly bug fixes and just a few new features/scenes etc.

Known bugs

Showing troop id error on game start due to kingsguard script.  - This will either be fixed or removed before the next release.
4 scenes currently cause a crash. The Eyrie, Longbow hall, Mistwood, Bandallon. - I will find placeholders for these before the next release.
Highgarden still shows red text errors on troop id when entering the great hall. - will be fixed before the next release.
The Wall great hall needs coding in. Currently it takes you beyond the walls. - will be fixed before the next release.



This will be the last dev build before I release Beta 8 Final to the rest of the public so please try and post as many bugs/issues as possible!!

Heres the latest dev build. Ive decided to open this up to the whole forums to enable you guys and gals to help me squish as many bugs as possible before the official release. Please remember this IS a dev build, so many things could be half finished and this is not technically meant to be played, if you do then save often!
