Thanks!

Help & Support / Re: About the Dothraki
May 08, 2019, 12:41:08 PM
Hi Reek...this topic interests me, but I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for.

It's been my experience in Native that the Khergits mostly charge directly into your army with a few stragglers riding around creating havoc.

This is not historically accurate how horse archers were employed.

In direct contrast, it's been my experience in the AWOIAF mod that the Dothraki mostly circle your army shooting arrows, with individual riders charging your soldiers.

This is pretty much how horse archers behaved historically (of course without the running out of arrows and suiciding into your army part).

So, in my experience, the Dothraki are definitely not functioning like the Khergits.

It's interesting to note that the defense to horse archers was probably most famously and successfully exemplified by King Richard during the 3rd Crusade...keeping your troops in tight formation and not chasing after horse archers you can't catch and separating yourself from the safety of the group.

However, until I'm sure what you're asking for, I can only add that a real problem here is that it is practically impossible to keep your troops in formation, as they always start chasing the Dothraki.

If morale is high enough, they should stay put where ordered.

Just a reminder the "Help and Support" section is not visible unless you log into your account...i.e. third parties browsing the website can not see it.

When a person doesn't receive an activation email after registration (like me), you're directed to post a message in the "Help and Support" section...which you can't see unless you are already logged in.

This is a problem.

If you have Mount & Blade: Warband in a Steam account, open Steam and left click on M&B:Warband in your library.

Then in the "Links" section Community Hub / Workshop.  All of the mods associated with the game which Steam has (including AWOIAF v4.3) will be available to you.

Alternatively, you can go to moddb.com and search for "A World of Ice and Fire".  Scroll down to the Files section and the current version of the mod is v4.3.

Hope this was helpful and enjoy the game!

Concerning the AWOIAF Modification Board, certain threads are not visible unless you are logged in to your account.

The threads not visible unless logged in are the "Suggestion & Discussion", "Help and Support" and "Modding Area" threads.

The threads which are currently visible to those not logged in to an account are only the "AWOIAF" and "Bugs" threads.

Additionally, any posts an account holder made on the missing threads are also not visible in the account holders posting history unless you log in.

Thanks!

Hi Tages Grey...thanks for the help.

I don't know what morghs is and I don't use any cheats or access the program in any way.

I'm not a gamer but it seems odd that so many people are having the exact same error (out of so many things that could go wrong with a random save corruption) for it to be a coincidence.

Wouldn't it have to be the exact same "line misalignment or corruption on the save file" on different peoples computers accessing the game through both Steam and mod db?  This seems unlikely.

I sincerely appreciate your time and help looking into this but I also don't think the folks who created this otherwise awesome mod should write this bug off just yet.

Thanks again!

Hi Tages Grey!

All straight battles...I roam around the map attacking bad guys (for the xp and loot), entering tournaments and spent a significant amount of time in the training grounds during the early game leveling up so I can protect myself.

My character is male, race is from the Vale / tall and religion is the Seven.

I chose the option to quit w/o saving...which I felt justified in using during the early game, when a character spawned behind me in mid swing, killing me dead (that parrot is not dead, he's sleeping...)   :)

Reputation level is high, never engaging in any activities that would lower it.

For the Red Wedding, I accepted the invitation as a guest of the Starks (not the Frey side), but did not attend the actual event.

When starting the game at Kings Landing, I did not accept the quest to bring the message to Robb Stark/Winterfell but did find a raven and brought the message to Stannis.

Please let me know if you require any other information.

Thanks!

v4.0 / [v4.2] Crossed the Rhoyne w/o a bridge!
April 25, 2019, 12:10:46 PM
Came out of Volon Therys and started chasing a group of slavers south east along the coast line 8)

Almost caught up to them towards the bottom of the peninsula, where the mouth of the Rhoyne starts opening up and the town of Volantis is directly on the other shore when the stinking slavers pulled boats out of their...backpacks...and got away >:(

But to my surprise, my horse icon kept following them across the Rhoyne and I wound up in the town of Volantis :o while they were on their ships in the bay ???

Now, while I applaud my soldiers diligence and ingenuity ;) the game has never been that kind to our little band of try hards, so I exited and reverted to my last save.

v4.0 / [v4.2] Large bag of steel bolts
April 21, 2019, 12:15:59 AM
[v4.2]

The item "large bag of steel bolts" appears in different towns for sale with a damage modifier of either +13 or +20.

Not sure if this inconsistency is intentional.

[v4.2]

I chose the book characters and static (not sandbox) options.

Currently have a party of 70-80 and am approximately 350 days into the campaign.

When I have battles with any party size (from half to double my own party size) what happens after the battle is as follows:
- I get a screen that offers me only 1 of each type of person I rescued to hire and only 1 of each type I knocked out to capture...no matter how many there were.
- goes back to the main screen with a final credit for experience to be shared among the party of a very small amount (in the 20 range)

I never get the screen that asks me how to divvy up loot (3 hours customary, etc) and consequently never get any loot or morale boost or xp from the battle.

This was not always the case as this mechanic worked fine earlier in the campaign, but can't pinpoint exactly when it started going awry.

No idea how to reproduce it or when/why it happens.

Mount & Blade: Warband and AWOIAF v4.2 downloaded from Steam.  Had AWOIAF v4.1 (first and only mod) and Steam automatically downloaded the v4.2 update (not sure if that's relevant).

Thanks!
