That other companion, Kurleket

So I got Kurleket in my last playthrough while I was in the North.  I would like to get him again, any idea what triggers him to show up?

Kurleket is a random occurrence, just like finding a bag of stags whilst taking a @#$%.  I usually pick him up running between Winterfell and King's Landing, but there is not definite trigger.

You say usually.  How many times have you picked this guy up?  I spent a lot of time walking around just trying to find him( mainly in the north, bc that's where I found him before).  I'm thinking there are some other triggers, like the size of my army or number of companions I have with me.

Roughly 23 or so times, he is a random occurrence sometimes I can pick him up week one, other times it takes up to 6 months.
