Title: Large Cities Cause Crashes
Post by: Evan on August 03, 2017, 05:16:53 AM
Hi There,

First and foremost, love the mod! Basically bought the game for it (since there isn't a 'good' Game of Thrones video game and I need to get my fix between episodes).

For the most part, the Mod works perfectly. I've logged in 5 hours so far. Unfortunately, major cities cause major crashes to the game. Smaller settlements are fine to visit, but areas such as Gulltown, White Harbour and Oldtown occasionally cause the game to crash while loading. The worst is, of course, King's Landing, so I don't even bother going there.

I'm on a 2015 Macbook Pro with an AMD Radeon R9 M370X Graphics Card and a a Intel Core i7 Processor. I'm running the game off of Steam, though I downloaded the Mod from ModDB (downloading from Steam caused a weird hair glitch). I'm running up to date on Mount and Blade (Version 1.172) and running Version 1.2 of 'A World of Ice and Fire'. I have "verified the integrity" of the cache, and have tried lowering the performance settings. I only downloaded Version 1.2 itself, so there is a possibility I may be missing something crucial from a previous version.

If someone could help me stabilize the game, it would be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Same thing for me, except my game doesn't crash per say, it just freezes for around 5-15 seconds before the menu appears.

It wouldn't bother me if it was only once, but there you navigate through the menu of cities and with just a few clicks I'm up to a minute just waiting for stuff to appear.

In villages where there's only the vanilla menu, there's absolutely no problem.

I'm wondering if the team could put out a fix or an optional patch that just restores the basic menu to cities (similar to villages) and removes the one where we see the town in 3D. It's rather useless and it kills the ambiance for someone with a lower-end PC.

Thanks.

Check the options in the camp menu to turn it off.

Thank you very much.

I want to thank you for the amazing mod too, I didn't in the first post.

I redownloaded the game just to play it. I forgot about the camp options.
