Companions banners when they become lords

So, I recently took rosby, and decided to give it to my companion see illiterate the penniless. When he was given the castle, I saw that his banner was plain white, though I just ignored it. Then, I took duskendale and gave it to creighton longbough and his banner was also completely white, when in previous versions of the mod, he's had a different banner. To see if this was the same for all companions, I gave a fief to brown, who I know used to have a banner with an owl, but even his was plain white. Is there a way to fix this so that companions have their own banners, or was this just something changed in the new version?
