Cant create character

everytime i create a character i get a C++ runtime error it reads as follows

program: ....steam/steamapps/common/mountbladewarband/mb_warband_exe

this application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way

ps please dont tell me its because i have the steam version =(

im an idiot do i extract the folder or the contents

extract the contents, then place them into your modules/A World of ice and fire/Resources.


I should have probably put them into the correct folder so you could extract straight into your module folder, but i forgot..

Does it happen before the character creation (where you create your face) or just before you start a new game (before you enter the first scene)?

just as i hit continue and am about to fight the first attacker after face creation

   Same problem.  Have version v.0.5.4 plus hotfix.  I can start the tutorial and quick fight but, once I create a character just as the poster above, crash C++ etc.
