I have that same problem but when entering Taverns, Walking in cities, entering battles etc... it just happens randomly... it happened with the steam version too(now im using ModDB)
Very strange, are you using Textures on Demand?

I can safely say my game has never crashed, no matter how much I tweak it. Are you using the modDB version?

Whenever I enter a battle and look behind me character, my game crashes. I have added in new troops but I didn't have this problem before 2.0
