I guess its just the way the troops are balanced and the way native calculates the auto resolve. I would say try not to use it, I never use it when playing any module or native because of these issues.

I almost never use auto-resolve because it is way too costly.  To many times have I lost 25 knights+ from a 400 man army to 35 bandits.  I usually just tell the men to charge and let it run its course; 0 casualties.

I wonder, does the auto-resolve take party skills into consideration?  For example, does surgery count in the calculations?

I've had a similiar error, although on a lesser scale. My 43 peasants couldn't auto resolve beat 3 poachers (same category as looters/peasants)

So i was fighting alongside the north vs the iron islands. We had about 1500 men vs their 1000 men. I decide to let them go at it without me, only to have the north loose around 500 soldier whilst the iron islands lost about 5. The northerners really shouldnt be that weak?
