Yeah and I think even if the control did work it makes for too many commands in battle.

ACOK has optional fixes for things like this such as forcing all mounted troops to use lances if available and switching to swords when in close combat, it might be worth suggesting to produno.

I've added this from 1257ad for the next update.

Great!

v4.0 / Knights Don't Switch to Swords
January 05, 2019, 10:54:36 PM
Reach Knights, Vale Knights, and Red Cloak Knights (this may apply to others but this is what I've found so far) all continue to use their lances when in close quarters. This renders them essentially ineffective when in combat, and troops which are extremely expensive and time consuming to train become next to useless. This doesn't fit the lore or the actual history of how knights fought, and it's very frustrating to watch three Reach Knights get killed by Lannister Footmen simply because they won't whip out a sword.

v4.0 / Re: 4.1 Bugs

Hey Indo, I'm not experiencing any of these bugs on 4.1. With the exception of the travelling merchants.

Even with Savegame editor? Also, is there a way to cheat myself back into the castles I owned?

I still don't know how to transition between versions without losing progress. Can someone please advise?

What is your relationship value?

v4.0 / Re: All villages hate me (4.0)

Try updating to 4.1, Produno fixed it. If it's still not working then it could be your actions. I've found that raiding villages and caravans can universally affect village relations.

v4.0 / Commoner Trust

Commoner trust shows as untrusted, but no amount of village quests seems to remedy this.

How do I increase commoner trust? I've been doing village quests whenever I come across them and I've never raided a village (did take out one caravan but it was a faction I was at war with), but I'm still "untrusted".

Off topic but I also somehow have negative right to rule and I'm not sure how that happened.

Help & Support / Keeping Saves between versions
December 20, 2018, 01:33:04 AM
So this could be a dumb question, but how to I keep a save when I update the version I'm playing? When I went from 4.0 to 4.1, my saves would no longer load.

That would probably be it. Was driving me crazy and I ended up starting a new game.

v4.0 / Claimant Quests impossible to complete
December 17, 2018, 07:27:04 PM
So I crushed Pentos while helping Valarr Blackfyre, but after taking all their castles and towns and roundly defeating their armies (Westerosi knights are no joke against Essosi troops), none of the Lords would join me even though I had positive relations with two of them. Furthermore, Pentos did not disappear as a faction, and the lords did not defect anywhere else. As a result, with the white walker invasion looming, I had to tell Blackfyre the rebellion was over and go north to fight the wildlings. I ended up Lord of Pentos and its castles, but I'm frustrated that I had to fail the quest. Is this a bug, or is it just extremely difficult?

v4.0 / Camp Battles
December 15, 2018, 10:49:13 PM
When fighting in a fortified encampment, enemies approach from the wrong side and get stuck on the stakes. The end result is a battle which takes place between wooden steaks instead of the intended idea of having the enemy approach up a hill into an organized shield wall while your archers pepper them. It doesn't make things easier or harder, it just doesn't make sense.
