v2.0 / Re: (2.5) Barristan Selmy stats
October 18, 2017, 09:12:37 AM
Go on camp menu and select the "Import/Export NPC" feature, select the companion you wish to change and press "C" then click on "statistics" on the bottom left corner of the character screen and select "export". Minimize your game window, go on "documents/mount&blade warband/characters. There will be a .txt document for each character you do this for (including your own, which you can do through the same process but from the "character" menu). Open the .txt file and you will be able to change all stats for that character.
In my current playthrough I gave Ser Barristan an equally matched proficiency in double-handed weapons and polearms, as he is the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard, a warrior of great renown and prestige, and he has a solid record in tournaments on horse and lance even into his old age at the start of the books story. The other proficiencies I gave him a decent, not bright but not piss poor either, as I doubt he had been trained only in single-handed weapons, and, as you pointed out, he would likely shoot better than the average peasant.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: Volantis faction blacksmith and War bows

Lol, or that. Getting to Tiger Cloak Archer should be easy enough as it takes little experience and they already come with War Bows. Probably easier if you play on normal wars mode instead of stactic as volantine lords rarely sort out to fight more than small parties of pirates and raiders.

Look for parties with big numbers of tiger cloak archer/elite tiger cloak archer, having more points in loot helps. At least you can be sure they are equipped with war bows.

v2.0 / Re: [2.2] Quest issue - stuck
October 16, 2017, 11:22:54 AM
Unfortunatelly the quest has remained bugged for some time, there's a way to fix it using an editor called Morgh's editor for M&B. If you know what it is and how to use it then you need to edit troops, and find The Tickler in the troop edit menu, you then need to untick the "unmovable" option for him. Even after you do this you still need to start a fresh save before accepting Beric's quest, or so I've read on a thread that explained the bug fix.

So far I've ssen the faction blacksmiths only sell you protective gear, no exclusive armament sold by them
Your starting culture automatically grants you access to said culture's faction blacksmith on every town owned by said faction regardless of your relationship points with them. Any other faction, you'll get to buy from their smiths once your relationship with them is at least 70 points, the Nightswatch is the easiest to farm these points since each time you sell them prisioners you earn points. And you don't get nothing really fancy anyway, All the really unique gear is obtained by questing or killing/sending to the wall any lord or king in possession of such gear.

Help & Support / Re: Where is Volon Therys Guild Master?
October 16, 2017, 11:07:43 AM
Lol, Moose is right, it's actually quite easy going by that reference. My first time playing this mod it took me almost 2 real hours looking around, the city is huge as hell and every street looks the same, until I finally decided to look for reference points around, just as I was about to call it quits, and decided to go directly towards this place.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: Sansa
October 16, 2017, 10:58:54 AM
Perhaps it's easier if someone who had success in this particular relation post the exact conditions his character was in when they successfully eloped with Sansa. Stats, relationship points, fief/castle owner, lord for some faction/had his own faction. In my last save I did manage to convince my "husband" Shireen Baratheon to marry with low persuasion and charisma , and even The Mannis gladly gave me permission to wed his "son" at only 60+ relationship points between me and him.

Thanks everyone for the help!
My companions did rejoin after about 2 weeks, but why did they leave in the first place? Still unclear about that.
No luck finding that Dagmer guy though in or near Oldtown.
As H3YimDR3W said, you find both Dagmer and Rory in the tavern at Oldtown, I believe you need to speak with Rory first to unlock the quest, and if you then speak with Dagmer he will challenge you. You'll then be able to meet him outside the town at "noon" in-game time, be aware that 90+ ironborn party is no joke even at the lowest difficulty settings. They're beatable but not if you try and be a hero, got to draw them into a decent archer line and smash them with cavalry/decent infantry before they get near your archers. You may also bait their throwing axes into waste if you are mounted on a fast horse, just make sure the axes don't hit you, especially in the back.
As for the companions, you might have sent them on a mission, perhaps to gather right to rule, maybe even accidentally, or you might have accepted a quest from some lord asking for your companion without you noticing it. Sometimes such quests fail and instead of you going to that lord to ask for your companion back after at least a week, you'll then have to wait for 2 additional weeks after you get the "quest failed" report. In case you don't know, never send Kurleket on any mission as he won't return from it, and I'm unsure where you even get the event to recruit him again. Also, in a recent playthrough I accidentally told Syrio Forel that we had to part our ways and he never came back nor could I find him anywhere (that ruined my whole save since he was my best troop trainer), so never use that dialogue unless you don't mind losing a companion permanently.

v2.0 / Re: Minister cannot train my troops.
October 16, 2017, 10:40:21 AM
Hmm, then your best shot is, either to cheat train them, or level one companion with high Trainer skill (Syrio looks the best bet), and then just waste time away until they get enough experience to level all the way through. I think the trainer skill of every companion and your own character, as well as their levels, also contribute for the total amount of experience your troops gain per day.
On another note, whoever came up with the angry dialogue prompted by having both Shagga son of Dolf and Ser Creighton Longbough in the party I tip my hat to him/her. And anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about should do their best to find and recruit both just to see that.

Ive watched the same video, the companion is Anguy he has obviously changed the name in the troops.txt file and then exported the character and imported again with a different name, as for the dialogue im not sure how he changed this but probably editing certain dialogue files in the module folder
Ah I see, well it was definitely simple of me to think it was part of the mod. The guy was even bigger a noob than I am at this game but he does know how to mod somethings it seems. It did cross my mind it was Anguy, but the modified dialogue, the proficiency stats also different, slightly, it didn't occur me he would've modded the mod for this. It's also ironic (I'm doing a reread of the books, and Anguy is mentioned to be a young boy), that he would choose this character to be his "father" in his RP playthrough.
Thank you everyone for clarifying this.

Yeah that one, after you speak with Dagmer he says "meet me outside at noon", except he has like 90 ironborn troops, and no pushover sailors either, definitely not a quest you want to take on early game, unless you're fine with outrageous cheating.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: Father companion???
October 13, 2017, 01:33:44 PM
Idk, but that person definitely had a companion who is your character's father appear, even had custom dialogues, so it wasn't some random editing of existing companions. I do think this is a secret companion of some sort, wether it needs a specific background to appear (like the direwolf or giant) is something I don't know.

A World of Ice and Fire / Father companion???
October 13, 2017, 11:38:27 AM
So I was watching a let's play of 2.2, and imagine my surprise when the person doing it finds a companion at a random inn that is scripted as your character's father. Idk if this requires some specific character set up, or if it is a generic feature in the mod. Seems like a decent companion to recruit, one that'll likely cause no compatibility issues with whoever else you hire.
