Lmao, so is the progeny any good as companions?

Cool I didn't use to play as horse archer but it's really fun. Time for some crime fighting in Westeros.

Lok, wtf is Son Goku xD? Did you rename Bronn or something?

hmm, if Produno is ok, will ask once I've compiled all the info I want to put in the guide. If not, I'll content myself with a simple "mod spoilers" thread.

When you play as wildling do you tend to recruit from non-faction parties such as northern clansmen or are you more pragmatical, less role player? The funny thing about some of these troops is, in terms of proficiency the northern clansmen troops really justify their high wage, same cannot be said for robber or exiled knights by comparison to regular faction troops, but they all come with shitty equipment. I mean even though it counts as a polearm, the hardened northern clansman, with all his skill, won't be much of a threat vs heavy cavalry of any type.

You need to be the lord of King's Landing, the king in the Iron Throne therefore, to be able to send lords to The Wall.

Does anybody know what is the strongest sword you can obtain without killing a lord? I have Stannis as a prisoner, I backed up my save and killed him just to try out Lightbringer and it was way better than my current sword, I want to get something like that without making every lord and every kingdom hate me.

Without killing anyone, and without cheating it would be hands down Ice, I used find item cheat to get it in the previous version save and it was fckin ridiculous, greatsword with speed of an arming sword or scimitar and the reach of a regular spear. Ice just cuts whatever is in front of you, up and down, left and right, criss cross. However you swing it it will do something, usually bad, to your foes. I never saw so many heads being cut off as when I used that beast of a sword.

Isn't the Golden Company also available for hire? At least in 1.3 it was if you got them before the invasion started. Either way, I've never made it far enough that I could hire them, or would need them. Perhaps in my current playthrough I'll get to hire some of them. I remember reading that The Tattered Prince for example becomes your companion if you hire The Windblown, 75k is expensive for a companion but he's supposed to come at level 46.

I'm going to guess that they could be useful especially after you start your own kingdom, I can see many uses for the merceneray companies in that case.

Golden Company is not available  :'( they're "in theory" with Dany / Aerys when they invade Westeros.
None of the leaders of the mercenary groups actually become your companion but the Tattered Prince & Ulf are able to lead patrols and are much stronger than regular units.

Ah so they're like those sellsword captain units you find sometimes? I think there are some other rogue bandits like that mostly on Essos, but I killed one by accident when our parties crossed paths. I'm asking this about the GC because when I played in 1.3 I found Mero roaming through some ins in Essos and he offered their services but the amount of silver was absurd like 150k or higher just to hire. Or maybe that was the Second Sons.

Imo, after inspecting the troop tree in the camp menu, and some no-faction units you have to discover through exploring the mod, I came to this conclusion:

Infantry: Unsullied (double as spearmen), Stormlands House Guard (equipped with maces for shield penetration), Northern House Guards (same as Stormlands but with axes), Sworn Sword (greatswords, no shield)

Spearmen: Northern Spearmen, Unsullied

Crossbowmen: Westerlands Arbalester (crossbow, sword and shield)

Archers: Night's Watch Veteran Elite Ranger (longbows and greatswords), Tiger Cloak Elite Archer (longbows and swords, cheaper than Night's Watch top ranger unit)

Skirmisher: Ironborn Finger Dancer (axes, shields and throwing axes)

Horse Archers: Fireborn (best archery proficiency, evolve from Red Priests), Sand Cavalry (bows, scimitar and shield), Dothraki Horselord (bows and arakh)

Cavalry: Vale Knight of the Gate (shield and greatsword, overal strongest cavalry), Mercenary Heavy Cavalry (sword, shield and lance, great vs any ground and other cavalry)

These are my favourites so far, I'm sure there are other great units, the Targaryens seem to have a pretty good cavalry too, you can use Dragon Knights instead of Vale KotG, and the units before Dragon Knight, the Crownlands Lancer instead of Mercenary Heavy Cavalry.

I've discovered this by accident by hiring Red Priests that were held captive by a party of Exiled Knights in Essos. If you hire Red Priests you can upgrade them and the of their troop tree is a horse archer unit called Fireborn, these units have over 300 archery proficiency which makes them the most effective horse archer units I've seen so far. They're really cool to have but hard to get since you need to find them as prisioners in order to hire them. They're totally worth it though if you're into horse archer units.

There's so much cool stuff in this mod and a lot of us are going around completely blind. I've been thinking of compiling a guide for facilitation purposes.

Just put him to some good use, make the fucker burn the midnght oil, and after you get King's Landing, just send him to The Wall.

As of now, nobody has Dark Sister. Produno stated that Dark Sister will be available in a quest for the next version.

Ah, finally some solid information. I take it he leaves these bits of knowledge for his donators first, hence the lack of awareness among the rest of us.

The Tattered Prince is found somewhere in Essos, probably close to the old valyrian colonies (Volantis, Volon Theris, and so on). The direwolf is a new one, so far I haven't managed to find out but I guess it has something to do with The North.
