This is correct, you need positive relationships with family members (or even a marriage) to be affiliated with a family. Since Dany has no chance at either you can't be affiliated with her.

Hi there, the targaryen claimant has Blackfyre, you would have to capture them in battle and then kill them to get it.

Hey, i'm pretty sure that being "affiliated" doesn't mean you get adopted. Maybe ask one of Maege's daughters about relatives and see if you appear in that list.

As long as you have a better relation than his last liege (and other liege's within the realm) he will always join you. Only effective way to get rid of lords in this game is too send them to the wall.

It seems to be extremely rare, I found one in Dothraki town once, never been able to find one since (so it could even have been a bug) as I'm not sure if it's supposed to spawn on vendors.

There is no one best, everyone has their own specialties (in my opinion)
Lys&Riverlands archers are insanely good. As are Westerlands crossbowmen.
Reach & Vale both have very good cavalry as does crown lands (after Targ invasion)
The only reliable infantry I've found for withstanding a horse charge is Unsullied.
