Help & Support / Re: Can't marry Arya Stark - 3.0 version
February 27, 2018, 06:17:37 AM
Both Stark sisters require eloping for marriage, same with Myrcella Baratheon because none of them have their father in-game so you can't ask for their hand, you must build relationship until any of them agrees to marry by eloping. You can do the same for any marriage prospect but since with most you can just ask for their hand, which costs less time to achieve, and also since eloping pisses their families off and makes you lose some relations with their respective faction, eloping is usually a last resort or for these ladies you can't marry any other way.

Are you planning to stream it or will you just post the video? Anyway, seems like a good idea for you to get fresh feedback.

In 3.0 I did rescued Kingsguards from Dragonstone prison and they joined me 5/6(Jamie didn't got captured), so i guess U can get them from town's prison now.
I have looked into ever town and castle for these fuckers but I have found only two, i.e Jaime and Maryn in Dragonstone, I am not sure about name of latter. Rest of fuckers have disappeared from world!! If you go into Prison, The dialogue they say, means they serve you now but still you can't break em out.

You have to either break them out of prison yourself or look for prisoner brokers in taverns. That is if they serve you, same as you would do if one of your companions get captured (this is rare but can happen if you send them to try and improve relations with a town that hates you).

That's a lot of info! I've added it to the wiki if you don't mind.

I didn't realize people like Jon Snow can be recruited as companion. But then I guess that also means every follower lords are recruitable companions. You could have an army of just companions at that rate!
I read somewhere on this forum, that in 3.0 U can recruit only King's guards, but don't know is it legit.

Legit. Lord Commander Jaime Lannister now rides with me.
How???
Tell me and I will hail you till the last day of my life!!!

I think you need to conquer King's Landing and get the message that shows you as lord of the seven kingdoms, then the kingsguard join you, and if they're imprisoned somewhere (happens a lot since Joffrey is a noob) you may need to ransom or liberate them.
I did, But all the hounds/companions of other lords including Kingguards say " Leave me, I am licking my own cock" Whether you defeat them in batttle or liberate them by capturing fief, You cant rescue them from prison as you would rescue a lord. And How to Ransom these fuckers?

To ransom them they would have to be sworn to you but it seems the feature that makes the person who controls King's Landing their rightful lord isn't fixed yet so you can forget it. The older method involves releasing them while they travel as prisoners of a lord who defeated Joffrey in combat and captured them, it doesn't work if they're sent to a town's prison. This method is supposed to work for any lord's companions but it does take time and won't work all times, basically there's an unknown % of success so you need to keep trying. The kingsguard may be impossible to get still because Produno wanted to make them pass on to whoever conquers King's Landing, and since that part was bugged it might've ended up as a case where you can't get them to join you by any means.

That being said, there's a method that might work, although it is cheating, by using a save game editor.

I haven't played very much in the new version but that is how it was done in the others. As for Joffrey, or other defeated lords, there's a simpler method to flush them out, just go to them and give them troops, once they have a considerable number they'll go raiding or attempt to conquer a town.

The kingsguard were supposed to pass down to the lord of the seven kingdoms, so if it's not working that way it's simply because that feature hasn't been fixed yet, but I assure you that is how it is supposed to work.

Great idea with giving him troops!

The kingsguard still not working as it should.

Yeah, giving troops to random lords is basically the easiest way to manipulate the tides of war, and certain lords, if you aren't able to persuade them into doing what you want directly. For example if you want a certain faction to hold on and they're losing badly. You can also reduce the number of troops per battle to the bare minimum which will cause your enemies to spawn no more than 3-4 waves of 50 men, this allows you to slowly wither way even huge enemy forces provided you have a decent sized army and decent troops.

As Indo said you get Dawn from Edric Dayne by defeating him in battle, Longclaw is with Jon Snow and is super hard to get possible. You need to have Jon Snow captured then battle whoever took him prisoner, and you need to be lucky to get him to join you, then if you get him as companion you can take out any equipment he has.

To obtain Ice you have to conquer Winterfell then look for the Weirwood tree, there will be a chest underneath the tree with Ice. Stannis has Lightbringer, you need to defeat him to get it, same for Blackfyre which is with Daenerys or Aegon, depending on wether you chose books or tv version (but always with the Targaryen invader). Dark Sister is in the mod but idk if Produno already made it available, either way it's obtainable by quest if and when it is added. Paxter Redwyne has Redwyne. I think these are all the ones that exist in the mod, there's also a giant valyrian axe but idk if it's obtainable wthout cheats, much like Dark Sister atm.

Aside from the weapons you can get other cool, character unique equipment, Joffrey drops his own Lannister armor (not the best heavy plate, but very cool and different from other Lannister armor), Tywin also has his unique Lannister plate, the Hound has his own gear as well and you can get it through a process similar to the one you do to get Longclaw from Jon Snow. The Mountain has a unique great helm, with the highest defense stat for helms in the mod, Vardis Egen has a unique armor too. Stannis also has his own unique armor.

I'm probably missing one or another but this is basically the list of unique equipment in the mod.

what's the percentage you think it takes for jon to join you?

That I don't know, I never tried to get Jon in my games but from my experience with other lords' companions  I'd say it's less than 10%.

Nope... :( In my last game i menaged to free him view times and there is no dialog option for me to even ask him to join.:( Eventually he just vanished :/ My question is why didn't he return to Lord Commander..?

As for King's Guard... The biggest problem with Joffrey is that when somebody take King's Landing from him, he will go to another fief and stay's there all the time... U must be clever to persuade him to leave his hideout... U can join The Westernlands and suggest him to atack somebody, U can use cheat dialog option to persuade him(but U must do it view times), U can join some faction that fight's against him and then suggest action, or U can just wait until somebody will eventually atack fief where he's hidding... Or just fight him, capture all his King's Guards and recruit them after some time...

I haven't played very much in the new version but that is how it was done in the others. As for Joffrey, or other defeated lords, there's a simpler method to flush them out, just go to them and give them troops, once they have a considerable number they'll go raiding or attempt to conquer a town.

I see you are using my post for info, so seeing as you're already in the wiki editing bizz, I'm reminded that I forgot one, Heartsbane is with Lord Randyll Tarly of Hornhill in The Reach. And just one small correction, Dawn and Lightbringer are unique weapons but don't count as valyrian steel forged in accordance with the book lore that Produno follows religiously when it comes to the mod's features, in fact they do not cause damage to wights because of this so you might want to amend your wiki post suitably.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: Best Troops
February 04, 2018, 09:02:32 PM
Fireborn being the last tier of Red Priest unit are found in Essos, usually you can't recruit them so you'll have to either: chase bandits in Essos who might have some as prisoners, or attack their parties in mainland Essos and sometimes also sailing the coastline. Attacking them will cause your relationship with R'hllor followers bad, and if you plan on becoming monarch it's unwise to provoke the faiths.

Red Cloaks are strong, as are the Vale Knights, but they're not necessarily the best options unless you can employ large numbers of cavalry permanently. The reason for that line of thinking is that they're wages are really high, and also because against other cavalry having cavalry units that employ polearms is a deciding factor since a well put couched lance is an insta death strike.

Indo95, to me they're great, the Tiger Cloaks, their defense is indeed a bit low, but they're cheap on the wages and are very good at killing. You should employ a good shieldwall formation of infantry or spearmen (better if it's heavy) so they're not vulnerable to pincer attacks.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I haven't played M&B for some time, so maybe I'm just not used to the damage.  I thought maybe it was ramped up in this mod.

I just took a thrown axe to the body from an ironborn pirate that did 155 damage on normal difficulty.  I guess I'll just have to be more careful in future  :)

Oh and Produno, awesome mod you've made here mate!  Will keep me entertained until Bannerlord releases in 2150.

Fixed.

Because of how the map is designed in this mod this castle really is way too off hand to be useful, except as a starting point if you decide to become king. I always keep it as my personal stronghold for the reasons you just stated, since giving it to a vassal means it will be an easy gift for my enemies.

So if I understand correctly, the prisonner you sell to NW go directly to their army / garnisons ? Even the one sold to the wandering crows ?

Yes, unless you're playing an older version of the mod.

Some wear heraldic mail, which means they'll sport the banner of whoever they serve.
