I've only been able to recruit the King's Guard by sieging and taking a fief they were held in as prisoners. If you win tournaments in King's Landing while they are there, you will get a +1 relations with each of them. Then it's up to RNG whether they like you enough to join. I've only done this once or twice. It's difficult.

I've never been able to recruit other companions.

It depends on what my activities are in the early game. For example, if I don't help them, Dragonstine is out before the Red Wedding.

When I first started playing the mod it was all about full conquest and maximizing my efficiency. These days I just role-play and test patches for bugs. I enjoy coming up with background stories for my heroes and then make decisions based on what I'd think they'd do. The map and the heroes future I leave to destiny :)

Turning off the scenic menu and lowering the battle size helps but it will still crash, save often. Loading large towns like Lys after an hour of play or lots of fast traveling causes it for me. The real issue is some people crash often and others don't. The quality of the PC doesn't seem to matter. My old laptop playing in 720p never crashed while my new PC does. Let me know if that helped.

Yes, they do a lot of damage. Wights die to valyrian, obsidian and fire weapons. The White Walkers only die to valyrian and obsidian weapons. You can also defeat them with auto calculation but that's very damaging. Produno is planning to have a way to deal with them better in 5.0.

It's a bug that is being worked on. The walkers come in sometime around day 700. Who owned Dragonstone when the Targaryens invaded? Were you apart of one of the factions the Targaryens decalred war against?

There's no code for the mod to guarantee that the faction leader takes King's Landing. If you don't accept it, another lord will probably be awarded King's Landing. The mod treats it like any other fief in regards to who gets it.

Where did you download the mod? Have you tried reinstalling it? Did you edit any files? Were you able to play the mod previously?

I've noticed that my battle size changes on its own. It has something to do with whether you change that option in the native menu or the camp menu. Also, I get the bug to where all of my troops spawn in if I choose to loot and burn certain walled fiefs. I can't replicate it with any consistency.

You have to be the lord of Starfall to open a hidden chest. Look carefully, it's hidden well in some foliage.

Thanks for this. It looks much better now. I too tweak unique weapons and you and I use the same stats for Dawn :)

Lords don't defect easily in static mode. The best way to recruit them (because you can try more than once) is to offer them a fief. Do that by speaking with your minister and sending a companion on a mission to convince a lord to join. I send one with high persuasion skill, though I can't definitively say whether that improves your chances.
