To get rep with a faction, rescue their lords from prisons, as far as rep with lords, you have to speak with them after the battles. Talk with everyone.

If you want a low-cost garrison, you can go with the 2nd tier Stormlander infantry. A decent weekly cost (divided in half for garrison), you can put 1000 in there and it's highly, highly, highly unlikely the enemy will ever attack it, and if they do you have a super trooper for siege battles because their weapon is shorter than an arming sword, so they can actually swing it.

Or you can just stick, 1000 unsullied in there, but that would cost 1.5 million, so no lol

Either be Stormlander (best choice, decent knights, TERRIFIC infantry, decent archers), and infantry rule the game, or keep the Stormlands alive, not easy unless you become their vassal.

I think the wiki is busted, I am not asking for permission to fix it because I wouldn't know how, but I just get script when I go there.

To help your commoner faction I think you can help villagers getting ganked, you can even defend them from your own faction, which can be funny, and caravans as well. Maybe you can do quests with villagers, but I raise villages by building a library there or whatever and putting taxes at very low, I don't generally do quests for them, so I don't know if that helps.

Help & Support / Re: How to defeat the White Walkers?!!
September 07, 2019, 06:10:24 AM
I have fought them now, with a couple of vassals providing the meat and me providing 1000 Night's Watch Rangers of various levels, mostly veteran.

I, mostly turn my companions, of the lower levels, into archers, horse archers if they have 5+riding and some power draw, if they have 3+ riding, I likely turn them into Knights, they get Valyrian weapons, I make a point of collecting them throughout the game. You can get 3 from the Qohor quest if you do it before doing Craster's Keep. Note the quest one takes 1 week to complete, so don't hand him the money and panic like I did the first time I tried this.

Then there's the ones you get from keeps and lords, I sniped them. I play a lot as my companions to level them fast. Like playing as one of my archers in a siege, I give them the best longbow money can buy and the best arrows and snipe, snipe, snipe. This is the best way to level your companions, play as them, give them great gear, they really accelerate after picking up 15+ STR and 4+ riding. Also, recruit the Kingsguard, they are basically the best units in the game from Day1, give them 3 pavises, and 1 valyrian weapon, they can take a couple of hits and kill a few before going down. You really just need a big enough meat wall until you can get around to the side with your archers, divide them into two-three groups and encase the White Walkers, they only have like 20 fire arrows, but they do plenty of damage to them and the fire does aoe damage.

Or you can just stack 1000+ men in all your garrisons and just auto them to death, you will kill them eventually, the auto loves defense, so you can just spam the strongest low tier units and that's Stormlands or Dragonstone Man at Arms. Don't need special weapons in auto irc, but I don't use that because my trading route involves heading North and I always stop by to check in on the Night's Watch, pick up whatever units in the tavern (take Rogues, recruits or rangers, you can skip anything else). I also will fight the wildlings, super easy, to free tons of night's watch prisoners, that's how I get several thousand of the rangers, they are in fact my primary garrisons in all my keeps. I will also, during the quests north of the Wall, hire any ranger broken men I can find, I do prioritize spotting, and pathfinding to be able to choose my engagements. If you have a big enough party you can push that first group into the Thenn's and kind of auto them down like that, going in when there are just a few. In any case, rangers, rangers, rangers. Even the rookie rangers have fire arrows.

The int companions I give them crossbows, this helps them level, but doesn't help in the White Walker fight, but they do keep a lot of my troops alive for the next fight and you can play them in a siege as well.

In my game two factions have been wiped out of fiefs, but here is the difference.

Stormlands, I can keep inviting their lords to my faction via my Castellan menu. Their Lords still run around the map mostly getting captured, every now and then show up in a neutral castle and get 60 or so men, back out to raid villages. This is after I got a pop up that the Stormlands had been wiped out. Continuing the good fight, also somehow the upstanding lords are still happy with Renly, despite constantly getting captured and no fiefs and me rescuing them from prison all the damn time. So, I normally have to sabotage their relations.

Riverlands got wiped out, and I cannot invite their lords through the Castellan menu. However, their lords are still running around the map like the Stormlander ones and are also happy with Edmure. Makes no sense, have to track them down to manually ask them, only to have them keep saying they don't want to discuss such matters such as you know, joining you, getting income and an army and castles to fight the Lannisters again, under a different flag. Hey, Brynden, I will even give you Riverrun if you join me dick!

Help & Support / Truces never expire
September 03, 2019, 06:59:54 AM
It's been over 100 days since I stole some towns from the Reach, it still says we have a truce when I approach my minister to declare war. It still says we have a truce in the notes as well, it doesn't tick down.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: Troops during siege

I don't want to necro, but I get this all the dang time and in the next patch it will be harder to just have them capitulate. It also happens in prison breaks, as your companions will just run around uselessly and not fight the enemy unless it attacks them. I was in one prison break where I told them to charge and they did that backing up thing they did, right out of the castle gate and down the road while me and the thankfully 2 lords I had rescued fought the 6 defenders.

I was not able to ask them as prisoners. I just had the same text to let them go or not, maybe you get something different if you own KL. I attacked the Dornish party that had captured them before I took the city. As far as that went, there were only 4 in that party, and Joffrey. I freed Joffrey, because I wasn't at war with the Westerlands, so you have no choice, but only 2 of the 4 joined me. Borous and Mandon, the other two refused, with 6 persuasion  :(

Joffrey eventually showed up in Lannisport or something but no Kingsguard anywhere. Ah well.

Well, it varies slightly. I find the Reach allies with the Westerlands around the time Sannis declares war, and that's like day 120 even. I get the Red Wedding around 160ish. I think the Varys quest hustles up the Aegon invasion because he came in around day 180. I rescued 20 Braavosi and ended up being able to complete the quest super fast.

After that it's the White Walkers, I think around day 700 but I never make it that long.

It's a bit wonky, The Reach, allies of the Westerlands do not get declared on by Aegon, or they don't join the War. Aegon is at war only with the Stormlands and the Westerlands. He might go to war with whoever owns KL, but I never see it taken until that war.

Help & Support / Re: Change faction culture
August 16, 2019, 07:34:34 PM
Well, it still doesn't do much from my perspective. I am RPing a Stormlander 3rd Son from House Wensington of the Stormlands who was going to join the Watch when captured by Wildlings, Mance sent me back South to take over and prepare for the White Walkers. So, I am doing that, but I didn't pick Stormlander, because Giants are fun, and even though I can pick pretty much every culture, I have tried them all, let weeks tick by and I can still only recruit Wildlings from the villages in my faction now. Ughh, well, I might restart and pick Stormlander, no giants are worth this trouble.

The safest way is to take KL (as your own kingdom), and then you can definitely Kill him, if you capture him. What I like to do is steal all the upstanding, good and martial lords from the faction, then next time I fight them, I send all their bad lords to the Wall, you only lose faction with the remaining lords of that faction and since I don't want them, it doesn't matter.

Did you do Varys' quest?

There's one quest in the Arbor Tavern as well, just take like 100 Archers and some cavalry, there does not appear to be a reward besides there being one less person in the tavern.

Thank you, I've reached a bit of a stalemate in my new game. Riverlands has one place left, the last Stormlands location was taken, but Gulan Swann was taking refuge in KL, which I owned after Dorne had taken it. So, I was able to recruit him. But not much is happening now. I had a super funny thing happen, the Reach was siegeing Seaguard, and I wanted Blacwood to join me, it was the Riverlands second last settlement. So, I went up there with my capped army, nearly 1000 men, and the attack was happening, so I was let through, asked him to join me, he said yes, it immediately flipped to my faction, I was able to join him in battle and will killed about 800 Reach troops before they skedaddled, I am not at war with the Reach, yet  :-*

I will turn off static wars and see what happens, but I am worried everyone will attack me since I own KL.

A World of Ice and Fire / Re: NEW RED WEDDING
August 16, 2019, 06:54:35 PM
Yes, you can save him, from what I can tell the easiest way is to rush up the stairs and kill the crossbowmen on the far side, or get them to shoot at you instead of him, it's still a close fought thing for me though.

Nothing that happens outside has any effect, like I can go in with 300 men, lost 250 of them in that fight (never happens), and at the end of the event, still have 300. It's essentially a large tournament, and Rob either wins or loses the tournament, with drastic effect.
