At least in my game, Tyrosh, Sunspear, Weeping Town, Kings Landing are a caravan corridor, then caravans get split up some go west to the Reach / Westerlands and others go north between the Vale and Riverlands gap...

From experience when you take a place your villages make Crownland peasants, even when i changed the culture policies i still keep getting crownland (a bug?)
They are decent troops but far from the best around
Last upgrade for foot soldier don't have shield (a big problem)
Cavalry horses have low armor
For archers either go full Night Watch or just go for the cheap from the Reach, Crownlands archer aren't worth it
