Night's Watch Defeated :(

I just started playing this mod. I did the first quest that took me to Robb, then joined his army. I served for about a year, fought some battles, got some levels, then finally struck out on my own. I went around, bought some gear, and started recruiting. After my first solo battle I had some prisoners, so I decided to take them up to Castle Black... only to realize that at some point while I was running around with Robb, the Night's Watch had been completely defeated and no longer exists.

This pretty much ruined the playthrough for me. Here I was getting ready to really immerse myself in the world and I find that the Night's Watch, who, playing as a Northerner, was going to factor heavily into my character's story, has been wiped out. My fault for running around for a year as a soldier and not paying attention, I guess. Still, I'm bummed out.

Yeah they only really survived because of jon snow, at least on HBO show anyway. The story in the mod doesnt progress like that. If you want the nights watch to stick around then you need to either get lucky or help them in some way.

It does change each play through though, i was on somewhere around day 150 and they were still going strong.

im 300 or so days in now and they are doing fine by the looks of it :)

200 days now in a new game and night's watch is doing well, too

for future reference, helping them with quests, supplying them troops and such things can help them keep going, in my playthrough I always sell them prisioners, sometimes even donate units, and they almost crushed the freefolk at 150+ days.
~Every good king needs two sisters by his side, a hot sister, and a dark sister~

When they went down on mine I fullllll on panicked. I can't wait for 2.0 to be here so that I auto supply them with troops.

Maybe its because the Night's Watch are not that heavily armored.  The Wildlings are pretty weak.  I am in around Day 425 with an army of 300 troops and I attacked Fist of the First Men (FOFM).  I cut through Tormund's 300+ Wildling army like a hot knife through butter and then launched a siege assault against another 350 at FOFM.  I lost more men through the vanguard assault that I had no control over then the actual siege assault itself (less than 10 casualties).  Unfortunately, I was hoping to recruit Jon Snow (who was a Wildling prisoner) after liberating him, but all he does is thank me and tells me to talk to Jeor if I want to join the Night's Watch.

Yeah, that's how I usually do... Everytime when I get some crap units, or some units that doesn't fit in my party(like enemy kingdom units) I allways go and give them to NW, just like my prisoners... There is no point to release them when I can buff up NW for view days.... In most of my plays they wipe out Freefolk ;)

As for your problem... I wonder is there a chanse to rise them again by taking King's Landing and sending a bunch of lords to the wall..?
Valar issi Targaryen.

Go to your minister and see if you can still send an emissary to Nights Watch, Then check if you can hand over a fief via that emissary. If you can, Go and declare war of Free Folk, Defeat their army in field ( like if they are accompanying marshal, That way it's easy, No more searching or shitload of battles ). Take out their few castles, Man them with 100-150 at least normal performing units and hand over fiefs to nights Watch.

Only owning king landings you can help the watch...like that i managed to just capture the free folks lords and send them all to the wall,
that will also include Mance Ryder and Tormund...basically they now only have the Magn of Styr and Harma Dogshead...
Also half Vale and Dorne Lords were sent to the Wall by me...Only, it will make you lose relation against all the lord of their faction.
Only other way is to not bother with honor and such, and just kill them. With enough patience, you can trade salt and furs between
Nord and Riverlands, and take a trip to essos to buy unsullied, until you get about 200, then you can just kill all the free folks.

Is there any benefit in owning Castle Black or The Wall?

The technique I use is very simple.  I make peace with the Freefolk and then do quest from Thenn, Frostfangs Camp, and Castle Black.  Eventually, you will get the quest to make peace between the Freefolk and Nights Watch, though that can be a real pain to get the mission to come up.  This method does have one useful advantage as both the Freefolk and Nights Watch can be reinforced and preserve their combat power to aid in your fight against the White Walker Invasion.

But you do random quests from the taverns or what kind of quests? Also you are freerider or vassal? Thanks for the info, it is very usefull!

Day 535;

Night's Watch and North completely destroyed by Free Folk. Jon Snow ran away.
Dorne simply get rid of Reach, Tywin got his tail and ran away. Very interesting Westeros

You have to be a freerider and you can get the quest from the guild master.  Just a heads up on the missions from the guild master:

Ale delivery- Once a Month

Kidnapped Daughter- Once a Month

Troublesome Bandits- Once a Month

Making Peace- Once a Month (You need to be a free rider and not attached to any faction)

Escorting Caravan- Always

Driving Cattle- Always

Trackdown Bandits- Always but only after attacks by bandits on peasant or a caravan.
