V7.0 / Re: Bugs or glitches
October 09, 2020, 01:15:13 AM
It takes 7 days for the sword to be finished that you bring the steel for.

This is a limitation of the Warband engine and it is not something that can be overcome with clever coding, or that would of been done with the wall. You can order lords to patrol it or put a large patrol in the area to keep a strategic advantage.

While I have made some postings of this in Discord in the past, this might be a good time to do a reveal of the minor factions that are currently planned for AWOIAF: The Known World.  Once the wiki gets a little more caught up our Bannerlord Wiki will be being populated as I work on the in-game Bannerlord Wiki.

Mercenary Companies Going into Bannerlord:
[/size]

Vale Mountain Clans
Hailing form the Mountains of the Moon the Vale Mountain Clans are a fierce and independent people.  Descendant of the Old Gold Worshipers that fled into the mountains after the Andals conquered the Vale, they have a long enmity with the against the Vale.
Brotherhood Without Banners
Known also as the Knights of Hollow Hill and the forgotten fellowship, the Brotherhood Without Banners are the survivors of the soldiers and nobles sent by Eddard Stark to bring Gregor Clegane to justice.
Brave Companions
Led by Vargo Hoat, the Brave Companions are a mercenary company from Essos, which due to various contracts work in Westeros under the employment of Twyin Lannister.  While the Brave Companions may charge for their loyal service, they offer theft, murder, and rape for free.
Holy Hundred
Under the leadership of Bonifer the Good, The Holy Hundred is a Westerosi mercenary company of elite lancers loyal to the Seven and to the holder of the purse that pays them.
Wild Hares
A group on young and untested noble men under the leadership of Benfred Tallhart.  The Wild Hares operate in the North in Westeros and focus their efforts against bandits and Ironborn Raiders.
Golden Company
Founded by Ser Aegor "Bittersteel" Rivers, the Golden Company is the finest and most powerful of the mercenary companies in the Essos.  While they prefer to be considered a free brotherhood of exiles it does not change the fact they fight for money and lots of it. The Golden Company has never broken a contract and claim the motto "Our word is good as gold."
Second Sons
Though the Second Sons do not have the reputation of the Golden Company, they are a dependable and well-equipped mercenary force that operate on Essos.  While older than the Golden Company, they are not as reliable or loyal to coin.
The Windblown
Established in 270AC by the Tattered Prince and five brothers-in-arms, the Windblown have already made a good name for themselves in Essos.  Their forces consist of both cavalry and infantry and have often saved their employers from defeat.
Stormcrows
Consisting of a force of five-hundred horsemen the Stormcrows are an Essos mercenary company that primarily operate around Slaver's Bay.  The Stormcrows are an effective medium calvary unit capable of holding its own on the battlefield.
Crew of the Hag's Teeth
Led by the infamous Valyrian blooded beauty Lady Korra, the fierce young maidens under her command fight for either spoils or paid coin.  They are known to geld their male captives for laughs and giggles.  Aside from the warriors of the Patrimony of Hyrkoon and the Jade Tigress Princess Khiarai, they rank among the scariest women in AWOIAF.
Company of the Cat
Led by Bloodbeard, the Company of the Cat is a salty yet undisciplined mercenary force.  It is hard to decide if the Company of the Cat would make better bandits than they do mercenaries.
Gallant Men
An old and reliable mercenary company, the Gallant men have been around since the "Doom of Valyria."  The Gallant Men often find themselves in the employ of Lys, though they have fought for Tyrosh on at least two occasions.
Iron Shields
The Iron Shields was founded by a group of Andal Adventurers and existed roughly over five thousand years.  They are a tough reliable band of mercenaries that fight primarily on foot.    Their popularity has declined since the Century of Blood though they are still exceptionally reliable.
Long Lances
Currently under the employ of the cities of Slaver's Bay the Long Lances patrol the Demon Road. They have proven reliable in putting down slave rebellions and clearing out bandits between Volantis and Mantarys.  They consist of highly skilled medium cavalry hailing from the free cities and Westeros.
Maiden's Men
Ironically, the Maiden's Men are perhaps one of the cruelest and unlikable mercenary outfits currently in existence.  Like the Brave Companions, the Maiden's Men are hired to remind everyone that the people that hired them have absolutely neither mercy nor care for those who would oppose them.  Many famous mercenaries have served under their banner and most regret their term of service.
Men of Valor
The Men of Valor are made up primarily of Westerosi adventurers and noble sons that have no hope of ever inheriting a dime from their fathers.  They have primarily seen action only in the Disputed lands between Lys, Tyrosh, and Myr.
Wolf Pack
Created by Hallis Hornwood and Timotty Snow following the Dance of Dragons, the Wolf Pack primarily consists of northmen and are the only mercenary company to have a contract with the nation of Ibben.  They are tough, loyal, and dependable infantry force led currently by Camren Ironsmith and Aldo Mollen.
New Bandits
[/b]
Jade Sea Slavers
Jade Sea Pirates
Bone Mountain Bandits
Steel Road Stalkers
Demon Road Deplorables
Yitish Outcast Marauders
River Reavers
Summer Sea Seahawks
Summer Sea Slavers

Currently 80+ troop trees are designed

Help & Support / Re: Truces never expire
September 03, 2019, 01:47:16 PM
You may be in Static War Mode, this will prevent Truces from expiring and keeps everyone else from declaring war on you.  You can turn this off in the Reports menu.

If you are like me, any response that does not help or you have already tried, will just make you mad as hell.  So I sincerely apologize, if any of this fails you or you have already attempted.
This sounds like a incomplete or corrupted download or a problem with the primary Mount & Blade program.  Can you run any other mods?  I would attempt to re-install both which you have already probably done.  For the Steam version I know a few weeks ago they were doing house cleaning on the Steam Side and sent out a series of 3 bad updates, so this may have afflicted you. I am sorry if none of this helps, but we want to get you up and running!  If you have any more info or error messages please let us know, additionally join the discord server and someone may be able to walk you through potential fixes, most of the people in there are nice.

Around day 156, is the Red Wedding event, this sometimes bugs out if the game crashes around that time.  Double check and make sure Bolton is not the ruler of the North.  If so, that means Robb should be dead.  The only way to really fix it is by conquering the city he is in.  After that, he should disappear.

Hello all,

I ran into a common bug people are mentioning: Aegon Targaryen and his lords won't respawn. I updated my game, hoping it would fix the issue. The issue is still ongoing. Could someone please help me figure out how to fix this, or even edit my game to leave the faction so I can make my own kingdom? Thank you very much for the help.

xcrunner,

If you are running a saved game from a previous version this bug is known to carry over.  A quick way to change factions is just to enable your cheat menu and talk to a lord of another faction and it will be an option in the cheat dialouge.  I wish I could tell you a way to edit the save game to start your own faction.

v4.0 / Re: Recruit prisoners after battle
July 22, 2019, 05:56:24 PM
You may be having this issue http://aworldoficeandfire.co.uk/Forums/index.php?topic=37807.15  There is an example of how to fix it manually on the 2nd page.

All shields, projectiles, and projectile based weapons will disappear on the second outfit.  This is how the 2nd outfit is regrettably set up on the base game ( this is not a result of bug with AWOIAF). I am not sure if it this feature is going to get any attention, since it will require quite a bit of work to fix with very little gain, especially with the new features Produno is creating for 5.0.

If anyone knows of a fix that others have created please post a link and perhaps Produno can incorporate it.

Help & Support / Re: Change faction culture
June 12, 2019, 09:16:13 PM

1. If you are a faction leader the culture of your companion you choose as your minister/hand should allow you to change culture.  (This does not always go according to plan though.)
2. Conquer a territory of the culture you want.  For example if you want Westerland Troops take over Lannisport.  After taking it over, open dialogue with your Master of Whispers and you will see the option to change culture.  The only culture you may not be able to switch to is the Crown Lands since you have to claim Val Ancestory in order to do that.

If you are a Vassal you can not change cultures.

So I recently installed AWOIAF and manage to play for a while and gather a small army however I've encountered a problem which I can not seem to fix, whenever I attempt to lay siege to any castle or area in that matter my game will just crash to desktop without any error, it will just freeze and crash, I've tried lowering the graphics, setting Max FPS to 90. Pretty much every option that is available in the launch options I have tried and to no success so I am looking to see if anyone has encountered this issue before or has a solution that may work for me perhaps so I can play at peace without crashing within two minutes of attempting to siege a castle.

Thanks.

Sometimes I have a problem with this, but it is usually from playing for a few hours and then sieging, this is due to the old Mount Blade memory hemorrhaging bug not coordinating the textures correctly.  The most basic thing you can do to attempt to see if this is the bug that may be causing your issue is to save right before you siege the castle and then exit from the game completely and restart the game and move into the siege.  If this does not correct the issue try a re-install of the game.  Additionally, there are a few people that are really good at figuring out if it is a performance issue, all they need is your computer spec information.

Which castles have you been besieging?

v4.0 / Re: [v 4.3.6] Patrol Bug
June 08, 2019, 04:52:46 PM
A few questions for you to see how the bug is initiated and/or can be reproduced:

1.  Are you hiring patrols from the Master of Law or building them off from your party?  If you are building them off of your party what kind of Captain are you using merc (i.e. Ulf, Tattered Prince, Ben Plum) or a captured captain (i.e. Bandit Leader or Robber Knight Captain)?

2. If you are hiring them from your Master of Law, which patrol type or types are you hiring?

3. Are you creating your own patrols from your garrisoned troops?  If so can you list your patrol makeups?

4. This is an oddball question, but it might be a factor. What religion is your character?

5. Additionally, can you upload a saved game?  This helps Produno and those who love tinkering with bugs to find out what may be going wrong.  With the VC Conquest update, some things can be upset with just a minor change and it can be problamtic to identify the root cause without a players saved game.  An example of this is the Companion Order Bug.

Thank you for your answers in advance!

You can have boats built by the Shipwright in any port city.  You will need stags, wool, lumber, and furs to have them built and wait for however long it takes them to be built.  Another option is to attack the seaborn bandits, raiders, and pirates and seize ships.

Help & Support / Re: Lannister Unique Armours?
May 30, 2019, 04:30:46 PM
That quest will lead to negative Westerland faction points if you are a vassal. Support a hostile caravan against one of the mentioned lords, you will not suffer any ill effect except putting one of your fellow vassals out of action for a week or two. Another option would be to use Morghs editor to put the armor into shops as merchandise.

You are not going to like my answer. I don't think there is anything you can do to bring back your lost force unless you have a prior saved game. To avoid this in the future do not remove your companions from the battle order, this appears to be part of the companion order bug that reared its ugly head when Viking Conquest got updated. Rest easy about your companions, as long as you do not play as one of your companions by switching commanders they will not be wounded, like the player gets wounded, only knocked out.
