i can't find it ):

M&B main diectory, go in Modules->AWOIAF you'll find an .ini file inside called "Module". Open it and edit it like Produno said to, this will fix the issue.

Hello friends.

I see some people might have this issue after upgrading to 4.3 where the game asks for a Viking Conquest DLC serial key.
If you have this problem this is the solution to it, in the module folder of M&B's main directory, go inside the AWOIAF folder, there you'll find a .ini file named "Module", open that and change the "operation set value" line from 1170 to 1100.

Getting a serial key won't fix the issue this is the only way, tried and tested.

1st in popularity on mod db too, with average 9 rating. Slowly but surely this mod is becoming an M&B legend.

You can't because it's part of the inherant mechanics of Mount & Blade itself that all lords are males, so Danay is the mod is simply a male character with a female skin. It should be possible to alter this in theory, but I reckon it must be extremely complicated since Produno never bothered changing that. All ladies you see in the mod that command armies are the same, the game treats them as males but they look like females, you even get in game reports saying that X lady is chasing Y lady with marriage proposals. You can probably marry Dany if you pick a female character ironically and even get her pregnant.

Sorry for crashing the party, but i must correct you. In another mod it is possible to marry a female ruler, so it can't be about Warband mechanics.

I think Produno might've locked it either for immersion purposes then, or it was just something that was breaking the mod. There's a way to do it I've recently stumbled upon though but it requires some editing via the save game editor tool.

You can not marry any female lord even if you are a female. There is no option of marriage proposal!

Well there you have it then, tbh most of these threads are old and back then I wasn't able to develop my playthroughs too long before a newer version of the mod was released and I had to start over again. But indeed the game doesn't allow you to marry any NPC flagged as a faction leader, which means you could theoretically make changes via Morgh's to fix that.

This isn't stupid at all, though there are some strange issues with companion units when the army they're in is defeated, like the "cloning". Those are mostly visual issues with very little impact in the game. Sure the Kingsguard are, in terms of canon, often used as party leaders at the crown's service, but the way the mod is done you can recruit companions of aby lord using the mod Tages Gray described. Hopefully the buggy stuff will eventually be polished to the point there are no such issues, but so far none of it is breaking the mod.
Can you explain what you mean?

The companions of any lord that was defeated in battle used to go to the prisons in the castles of the lords who defeated them, and once they were free their names would still appear randomly throughout the same prisons, hence "cloning". My previous post was made a very long time ago though, as you can see by the thread's title this was back in v2.2 and we're now in v4.2 and were on v4.1 when you made this post so nothing discussed here is relevant anymore. Unless you are for some reason still playing an older version of the mod, which would be an odd choice.

If you want to just skip the penalties from injuries there's a simple method, it will show scars in your character's page, but I guess scars are  8) so...

So whenever you get injured, go on "Character" menu, click "Statistics", click "Export Character".

Open your Documents folder, open Mount&Blade folder there, open Characters folder there, there will be a notepad file for every character you exported in all your saves from all your mods and vanilla, even NPCs (but you export/import them from a different menu).

Open the the notepad file for the character you're playing in that save, there will be several lines of text regarding your stats, including gold, exp, etc. Edit the stats back to where they where before the injury.

Save the file and close, then back in the game go on "Character" menu again (in case you had to exit the game for this), click "Export Character" this time and pick the file you edited.

Hahaha, don't you know that the Lannisters of the Rock are the only ones that matter?

In castles it is possible that it only works when you are at war with their factions cause than you can take them prisoners instead of just freeing them. But it definitely works, I did it  myself not too long ago. (Only with King's Guard though, other companions are impossible to recruit)

Ah yes, ofc in that specific instance I suppose it would work. Taking them into your personal custody from the prison and then recruiting them into your army.

You can also use weapons orders by dispatching orders before fights. But if the mod is bugged on the core of weapons related orders then idk. Maybe try adapting how you deploy them, Cavalry with lance weapons imo usually does better than swords using ones, but that also depends on what kind of units you're up against.

I personally recommend you to use the camp options and put all difficulty settings to lower, this way you'll enjoy it more if you're new to the mod. You can gradually increase the difficulty settings anytime if you feel like it's getting too easy.

Hmm, tried using the weapons commands like Indo suggests? I would try his suggestions first and then decide if you are better off with the initial setup of riders or if you should simply adjust your tactics to the new tier troops.

As far as I'm aware companions of other lords must be captured while they're in an army, doing so after they are imprisoned in a castle won't do it and they'll return to their lord. Alternatively it might work if they're prisoner of someone else and you fight and win that someone. I'm not absolutely sure anymore because this feature has been messed with often by Produno, so you guys should ask him personally for the definite answer.

Hey, i got an issue, I was training peasants(the bandits quest) and after i ended with the teaching we went to fight but there was like a million of peasants and the game eventually crashed, since they didn't stop coming out. Also, how does i give fiefs to non-companion lords? I have a minister and it doesn't have that option.

you probably levelled yourself to 63, it kinda breaks the game and scales it so that parties become huge. to give your companions fiefs, make your wife or a companion minister. it'll also open up more diplomacy options.

You were right about both, I imported a character so it went to level 2000 out of nowhere, guess I'll just give up on that save. Thank you!

Why don't you just import a character with a lower level?

or simply edit the character's level before importing

You know, people like Jon Snow, Loras Tyrell, etc.

I was told that I could do it by getting them taken prisoner in a castle and then sieging that castle, so long as I'm at war with both the faction I'm sieging and their faction. But every time I try and do it, I still get their generic messages. Is there a way to recruit them?

For King's Guard it works that way, but only if you have conquered King's Landing and are the Lord of the Seven Kingoms. For the other npc companions that are attached to another lord/king, you need to wait for them to be captured by another lord, and then rescue them before they are imprisoned in castle, so basically you need to wait for them to be captured after a battle, then battle the army that captured them. Even by this method, you still only have a certain % of chance to have them join you. Mind you that I never actually tried this, but it is what people who played the mod more have said.
