The safest way is to take KL (as your own kingdom), and then you can definitely Kill him, if you capture him. What I like to do is steal all the upstanding, good and martial lords from the faction, then next time I fight them, I send all their bad lords to the Wall, you only lose faction with the remaining lords of that faction and since I don't want them, it doesn't matter.

It's just bad luck. I believe it's a flat 60% chance that enemy lords will escape. It is 70% in native.

Good luck with reinstating your house to their rightful home.

So in my current playthrough, I'm playing as a surviving member of house durrandon and I'm taking back the storm lands. I was able to capture Stannis pretty easily and kill him. But now I have fought with Renly 3 times, and 3 times he has escaped afterwards. Im curious if maybe its not possible to kill both Renly and Stannis? Or does Renly have plot armor?

I'll keep attempting and update this post if im able to complete my task. But if you have any information on this it would be great if you replied!

Thanks!
