Best book/tv series ever? (I put up a poll) ;D

Na , try the black company ! Asoiaf is nice but there is plenty of useless pov (Arya ,Jon ' Dany)

The black company, what's that?

Game of thrones is certainly one of the best things on tv in the past few years. I also watch walking dead.

Interesting... You just listed my three favorite characters. ;D

If they're useless, who has the useful pov?

Every non-child , no-complaining , No-Stark  Pov are good .
The redemption of Jaime is nice , Tyrion is tyrionesque , Brienne , Davos .

Mmmm... Whats bad about the Starks? :-\

Oh and also Jon is basically the most important PoV, just saying. ;D

What is bad about Stark ?
They are all too good ,
Arya will become a kick ass
Bran will become Gandalf
there is a great possibility that Jon is the man who will save the world
And Sansa or Rickon will restore the house in the North ( i vote for Rickon , Sansa will certainly become the Queen of Westeros.)

Honestly , with Martin we do not really know and i hope that i am wrong , same i really hope that Jon is simply a bastard and not the man who is announced by the red priest , neither a head of the dragon.

Well, you can believe what you want.

I think that GRRM has been a good enough writer to make it all believable, and the fact that he is willing to kill his characters just adds to that. ;D

well, their is two books to go? so i guess we will see ;).

Yep. ;D

edit: maybe 3

What's sad about the GoT TV show was that by mid-season 4 and on it just became such a boring disappointment.

Forget about the botched Dorne and Stannis plot in Season 5, Season 6 and 7 was just such lost potential for a revival of the series. I figured since that the writers can do whatever they wanted, just as long as they stayed true to the ending (which GRRM told them, apparantly) then there was so much that they could've done.

But it was just terrible. Awful writing, and killing characters because DnD had no idea what to do with them.

I enjoy seasons 5-7 more than season 3 and 2. Were they perfect? No. Were seasons 3 and 2? No. Things change when the author decides to stop writing the books and you have to tell a story through the medium of television every year, in which case books 4 and 5 would make for boring television.

Dorne sucked, sure. But they ruined Stannis? The guy is just different in the tv show than in the books, so it's not like they ruined him within their own tv universe.

Yeah, season 7 episode 6 had problems. But is it a worse episode than the Night Lands from season 2, or Lord Snow in season 1? Definitely not, ser.

Stannis is different because they made him more of a religious nut rather than as a reluctant king who was the only one who cared about the real enemy (the Others). He was ruined to the point where he made stupid strategic mistakes and did unforgivable things such as burn his own daughter alive.

Because we would have preferred to see that instead of a campaign to liberate the north by rallying the other Northern Houses and being introduced to the mountain clans.

Hate to say it but Stannis shot himself in the foot to becoming a religious nut when he made the Wild-lings accept R'holler as a religion.  In this fashion, he also alienated himself from the people of the North, since he at that moment put himself against the Old Gods.  Remember, even the House Manderly had to swear their loyalty under the Old Gods and the Gods of the Seven. So in away the TV series captures his switch to a religious zealot, but they do not illustrate how he grows into that situation.
