Freezing during battles after Beta 9

My game constantly freezes during battles, this freezing lasts for about  seconds then it goes back to normal for a couple of seconds, then back to freezing and so on. This only happens for this mod, and only for Beta 9 and 9.5, 8.5 works fine. I have tried turning off formations ai and reducing battle size and graphics quality, but that has had no effect. My fps remains quite high during battles, but the freezing continues, so I do not think it is anything to do with having too big a battle, my battle size is still at the default level.

Thanks for the quick reply, I've tried all the options in that thread; low settings, turning off ai, load textures on demand etc; and I've tried this all with 9.5, the most recent version. The freezing continues, I have noticed however that in custom battles, no matter what I choose it starts a naval battle, and in these battles there is no freezing. I'm assuming this is because naval battles dont use formations ai, but the freezing still continues in land battles when I have turned off formations ai in the mod menu, is there perhaps another way to turn off the formations ai that I dont know about?

Its the formations and enemy ai (Not all can be turned off). You need to make sure you are running Warband 1.168. It does say this in the top stickied post.

It is 1.168, I have the steam version so it updates automatically, I checked as well and it is 1.168.

Hmm maybe you could try and download warband straight from the TW site.


The reason the stuttering happens is because the new code uses new operations that are included only in 1.168. So if you are using that version, I have no idea why you would still be having issues. One other thing to check is the battle size in your options. This has also changed and could be set to max (750).

I managed to find a fix, the update must have installed incorrectly as I verified the integrity of the game on Steam and thereafter it worked fine. Thanks for all the help, its a great mod.
