I had a similar issue after my first install, and discovered the reason was having the wrong version of vanilla Warband. The most recent patch brings the game up to 1.158:

Found about GOT mod for warband, decided to try it out.

After i downloaded the mod and the 0.5.02 patch for it, i started the launcher, changed from native to a song of ice and fire mod.

After the game starts, while on the loading screen( it has the sword on the black screen background) and has the "version alpha 0.5.00" message on the lower side of it, the game crashes with the error message "get_object failed for texture: hair_blonde_other"

I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it with no success, tried deleting the mod and reapplying it with no success as well. I would really appreaciate it if anyone could reply as to what could be going wrong.
