Red Priest Robe advantages

It is written under Red Priest Robe - "Religious equipment gives advantages in certain skills?
What exatcly is the advantage of wearing a Robe?

BTW:It would be cool if charcater could access some Red God magic/blessings

Actually it seems that nothing other than equipment that gives penalties is working.
In character stat menu I cannot see effect of merchant tunic or red priest robe or donkeys (1+ foraging) or banners.
Is normal?
