Foundking a Kingdom

I tried invading Bravos to obtain my first fief, however when I conquered it, the two villages tied to it plus the city immediatately started to hate me with relationships of around -47 or so. It would also get worse after every few days until it reaches -100, and sometimes even going to -117. Its persistent in that even if i try to raise it via low taxes, doing quests etc, it will pop up by the appropirate amount for awhile, but then it drops again for no reason. I have high honor, never raided a single village in my entire game, and started my war by first speaking to a lord my demands. So there shouldnt be any reason why this is happening. Could someone kindly look into this please?

What religion were you and the villages/city?

On my current save game, I am worshipping the old gods and I control Winterfell and the linked villages. But I've tried restarting several times and it happens regardless of which city/villages I sieze/control or which religion I follow. Apparently this only happens with cities i think. I had no issue with a castle and its village when I seized it, but the moment I captured winterfell it started acting up again.
