If a lord can't tell you where he is try asking your master of whispers for info about a lord or at a tavern you can find NPC's that can show you
Can also use cheats and CTRL T to show all units on the map and check castles etc for him

In the books Aegon is at Griffin's Roost I think and Daenerys in Meereen. That's why she isn't invading when you chose book version.
