The problem is solved: I messed up the 1st time somehow, now is alright. 
I installed manually : extracted main mod  to desktop ; copy/paste contents of patch one by one ; then moved to modules.
Zero problems so far  :)

Honestly, Your mod is beyond praise !
I cannot wait for the 1st full version !

The 1.168 (+) just means it will work on any future versions of Warband. It's more habit from before I updated the module version.

Make sure its the contents of the folder you extracting. It should ask you to overwrite quite a lot of stuff.

Yes : 1st :
A_World_of_Ice_and_Fire_-_Beta_9.5.7.rar
then extracted over
A_World_of_Ice_and_Fire_Beta_9.6.rar


could be I am using 1.168 and not 1.168+  version
btw ; what "+" stands for after 1.168 ?

I will delete and reinstall m&b;w any way, but do I have to buy a specific DLC ?
( I will ! if it is necessary to better play this mod )

Have you first downloaded beta 9.5.7 and then extracted 9.6 over it?

First and foremost: this mod is astonishing !
Rich , complex and with infinite poyential; it's everything I wished , and more ! Graphics are breath taking and the immersion in the story and the gore of GoT is just prefect !

Question(s)
I own only m&b warband, latest version 1.168 iirc ; bought last month on steam.  In the opening screen of this mod  however the nr. 1.168 is highlighted in Red
