I do believe it is a bug. So I reported it as a bug here: http://aworldoficeandfire.co.uk/Forums/index.php?topic=34965.0

Enlisting patrol still works like above person said. And newly added lords (from companion for example) will follow the kingdom culture. But village will keep defaulting to your initial faction.

Shame.. Any tips on fighting the white walkers? I pretty much gave up and sailed to conquer Essos. Also thanks for filing that bug report.

I think it works when you go to your castellan and enlist a patrol

Hello, first I want to say this forum is awesome and I'm glad to be a part of it.

So the white walkers have invaded and I recently learned that the only troop that can even do damage to the wights are the night's watch fire arrow rangers. I decided to change my kingdom culture to nights watch yet whenever I go to recruit my recruits in the town next to shadow tower, I get northmen.

Is this a bug? Is there a better way to combat the ridiculous wight parties?
