I don't know if there is a "legal" way to do it, but you could activate cheatmenu and then talk to any vassal or the ruler to join their faction (you will also keep your fiefs if you have any, except villages).

Since join nightswatch now become a freelancer in the nightswatch rather than a vassal. How do I become a vassal in nights watch?
